Shopping for kids IS SO MUCH FUN — but it can also be overwhelming because with so much being marketed to them, it feels like there is a lot to sort through! Enter our gift guide! This isn’t just any list—it’s been thoughtfully curated by two young experts (my 5 and 4-year-old) and my sister and friend’s kids. They gave me the rundown on exactly what kids like and (equally important) what they don’t like (I was humbled LOL). So, if you’re hunting for child-approved gift ideas for kids, you’ve come to the right place.
I’ve organized our guide to follow the five rules of giving; here, you give your child something for each category, plus a couple of gifts from Santa. The categories are Something They Want (The big gift), Something They Need (think sports, hobbies, art), Something to Wear (a nicer outfit, pajamas, etc.), Something to Read (a few new books), and Something to Do (an adventure/activity). We’ve followed this rule for the last couple of years, and it’s been so helpful in keeping us from going overboard!
