I’ve been seeing (read: admiring!) these boots everywhere — so wanted to get my hands on them and see for myself…and let me tell you, I understand the hype. These boots are GOOD. They are comfortable, run TTS, lightweight, so beautifully designed, and water resistant! BUT, at full price, they will run you $495. So, I went in search of some great alternatives — let’s break them down from most expensive to least expensive.
Freda Salvador — Brooke Boot
$495
I’ve seen so many influencers recommend these as their favorite everyday boots, so I was curious to know if it was worth the hype. Honestly, it’s a great boot — the fabric, quality and fit are really good — it is perfectly designed to be feminine but still give cool girl/utility energy. They are super comfortable, extremely lightweight and water resistant, so you can walk all day in them and your feet will still be happy. So, I can see why everyone recommends them. Still, my hot take is you’re overpaying at $495 a pop. If they are in your budget you should at least wait to buy them when they are on sale (they are actually 20% off right now — making them about $100 cheaper). I’ve been tracking these for a while and they do get included in their sales, so keep an eye out and make sure you buy when you get a little bit of a break!
Jenni Kayne — Brooklyn Lug Boot
$495
I have admired these books for literally years, but never pulled the trigger because I couldn’t justify the price. After trying them on, I can confirm they are comfortable, great quality and beautiful. I especially loves the low heel for all us tall girls that aren’t looking for any extra height. BUT, they aren’t water resistant (and I don’t trust myself with those sprays you’re suppose to apply!) so they were an easy return in my book.
Loeffler Randall — Raquel Pull On Boot
$395
I’m a huge fan of this brand, so was really expecting to love these boots, but they read so cheap (especially the heal/sole part) and overall just very basic. If you’ve got $400 — you can do better! I say pass.
Amazon — Chelsea Ankle Boot
$51
I’m so skeptical of an Amazon recommendation — I don’t want something cheap that won’t last or hold up to real life, so I was very surprised by these boots. They are actually super comfortable and cute in person. My only call out is that the elastic fabric running up the top of the boot looks/feels extremely cheap, but I don’t think you would notice it while wearing them. If you’re looking to try this trend or don’t want to break the bank, these are your boots!
Or, if you’re looking for a brown/lighter color boot, these boots are only $64 and 😍😍😍. Hurry, a few colors are selling out fast!
Sam Edelman — Laguna Chelsea Boot
$119
After searching hight and low — these boots were the winner. They are well designed, comfortable (but buy the “wide” if you have wide feet — I did think they ran a little narrow) and great quality. Ringing in at almost $400 cheaper than the Freda Salvadors, these will give you all the same function and cool girl energy at a much, much better price point.
Thanks so much for reading! I hope this review round-up helped you make the best decision. Let me know if you want me to do more of these! Xx
