You guys! Until I moved to the suburbs post-college, I had NO IDEA people decorated for Halloween. Let’s just say massive skeletons, spiders, and cobwebs didn’t make it to the islands. Honestly, we still aren’t going to be the most decorated house, and I’m still way more harvest decorations versus spooky. BUT, I have to admit it’s fun to watch the kid’s eye light up when we walk/drive around the neighborhood to admire all the Halloween decorations.
If we were going to do spooky, a few of my favorites outdoor decorations are the life-size poseable skeletons and cobwebs. This stacked pumpkin would be cute for your front porch and these adorable bats would look so great on your mirror or mantle. I also think these haunted skeleton houses, crows and black taper candles sticks (or these candle sticks if you want to splurge) would look great as part a centerpiece.
For harvest decorations, these basketweave pumpkins are classics (or these wicker pumpkins for a bigger budget) you’d enjoy for years. Both you and the kids would enjoy these or these felt garlands. I also love using these ghost cookie cutters to make festive sugar cookies with the kids. This personalized Halloween placement is also super cute (with Christmas on the other side, you’ll get lots of use out of it!) This Etsy shop has the cutest curation of paper products, perfect if you’re looking for supplies for both a kid or adult Halloween gathering.
I’ve found a few more fun decorations that caught my eye — enjoy! I love this doormat since it fits the theme, but isn’t too cheesy or on the nose. These Halloween (paper) plates are very John Derian. I think kids would love these jumbo ghost balloons. Lastly, this woven basket would be perfect for candy, then repurpose in your family room for magazines, toys, etc.
