Sharing the highlights of what I read, watched, bought, and stocked up on in October. Enjoy!
READING
I read Thing We Never Got Over, and it was just okay, very heavy on the steamy, light on the plot, and probably too steamy for me honestly. I’d skip.
I am almost done Tom Lake, and I feel like I need to issue a retraction. I was excited about this book, but it’s honestly been hard to get through and felt so, so slow. Sorry if I pointed anyone in the direction of reading it!
Now KCD and I are reading Rules of Civility, and I’m about halfway through it and enjoying it. Once I finish it, I’ll let you know my recommendation!
WATCHING
We binged BECKHAM on the way back from LA and it was fantastic — a must-watch in my book. It surprisingly gives you ALL THE FEELS — happy, sad, inspired, nostalgic. It was so well done — and I learned a lot about them!
I’m watching Lessons in Chemistry on Apple+ and am enjoying it. I read the book, but I’m still enjoying the beauty of the show — the scenery, costumes, everything is just beautiful. Although I feel like the dog they cast is throwing me off, does anyone else find this choice inconsistent to the time period? haha.
BUYING
I recently bought these ballet flats (under $100), and this sweater and I love both purchases. The flats feel like a basic I look forward to wearing, and they were comfortable from day one — the leather is incredibly soft (so no blisters to break them in) which is always a big win in my book.
This sweater is just beautiful and has a very reasonable price point for the quality — and it’s one I know I’ll get use out of all year long.
STOCKING UP
I quickly checked all the expiration dates in our medicine cabinet to make sure we were all set for cold and flu season. I stocked up on cough medicine, Zyrtec, Tylenol, and other essentials – you never know when you might need them!
And party season has arrived, so I also stocked up on my gift closet essentials to make my life a little bit easier week in and week out.
