If you’re anything like me, you are getting excited to find (or maybe dreading!) a new swimsuit or two for Spring Break and Summer. As an island girl that grew up in swimsuits, I have to admit I’m sort of a snob when it comes to swimwear. I want it to feel great, fit great, and look great — and am willing to pay for it. But I wanted to see if my spoiled nature was making me miss out on some of the great dupes/value brands on the market. And great news! I found some incredible quality bathing suits that I think you’ll love — and that won’t break the bank. Here are the best swimsuits for moms that will make you look good and feel even better. Enjoy!
American Eagle
The suit: Crinckle Scoop One Piece
The price: $38.46
The fit: I would give the fit a solid B. The material feels like what you (I) would expect from a $38 bathing suit (read thin/cheap), and I felt like the fit was pretty unflattering — it wasn’t high cut enough to be flattering, and the cut out comes up too high in the back, making it unflattering as well.
The verdict: It’s so tempting because at only $38 this Hunza G dupe feels like a steal, but I would pass. We found a better dupe!
Aerie
The suit: Crinkle Voop Binding Bikini Top
The price: $25.86
The fit: I was so curious about how this $20 suit would turn out, and I was so excited when I tried it on. The fit and fabric are legit. I mean, it’s obviously not Hunza’s quality, but it’s GOOD. The cut is flatting, the fabric feels like it will hold up, and the color is great! It also comes in a handful of other great colors!
The verdict: BUY!
The suit: Crinkle High Cut Cheeky Bikini Bottom
The price: $20.96
The fit: The high cuts hit right below the belly button, which I found a little awkward, but overall, I thought the fit, fabric, and cut to be flattering.
The verdict: BUY!
The suit: Crinkle Full Coverage Bikini Bottom
The price: $18,86
The fit: Again, I was really happy with the value of this swimsuit. If you don’t want a high-cut bottom, I thought this bottom also looked great with the crinkle bikini top above!
The verdict: BUY
The suit: Textured Sarong
The price: $24.95
The fit: You guys — this sarong is everything you want it to be and for the most amazing price! It comes in white and black, and you can wear it long or fold it in half to have a short Sarong. The perfect quick cover-up when you want a touch more coverage on your bottom when you’re at the pool or beach.
The verdict: Run, don’t walk, this is a buy!
Everlane
The suit: The V-Neck One-Piece
The price: $70
The fit: The fabric feels nice and thick — making it feel like it’s holding you in, which I liked. But I found the fit (I tried on both the XS and S) just off 🙁 The v isn’t deep enough, and the straight cut in the back hits at an awkward/unflattering spot.
The verdict: Pass
Hunza G
The suit: Pamela One Piece Swimsuit in Bubblegum
The price: $215
The fit: This is a bold claim, but I think is the best-fitting swimsuit I’ve ever tried on. Its material is like nothing I’ve ever tried on, and it feels like a dream. The material holds you in, but it’s not restricting/doesn’t feel short in the torso, like many one-pieces. The color is perfect (and comes in a million colors (including black/white), and the cut is so freakin’ flattering. I felt so confident and comfortable in this swimsuit, and everyone (KCD and the kids) insisted I keep it.
The verdict: I know it’s pricy, but this one is a BUY if you have a bigger budget.
The suit: Domino Swim One Piece
The price: $225
The fit: Incredible! The fabric that Hunza G has created is unreal. A lot of the dupe on the market nail the textured look Hunza G is famous for, but no one stands close to the fabric — it’s stretchy but holds you in and moves with your body. It’s honestly the dream bathing suit. The only thing is that it comes in “One Size,” so if you have a bigger best (lucky you!), etc., it might fit differently, but Shopbpop has fast and free shipping and returns, so it’s a low-risk try-on — and definitely worth seeing if it works for your body type!
The verdict: BUY, BUY, BUY! (comes in a pretty cream color, too, if black isn’t your thing)
The suit: Nadine Bikini
The price: $225
The fit: Again, the fabric is next level. Love the cut and all the details. The bottoms hold you in where you want but are cut in a flattering way. I loved everything about this swimsuit. I felt like the top would be super flattering for someone with a bigger chest, but otherwise loved everything about this suit.
The verdict: Beautiful two-piece — buy!
Left on Friday
The suit: Pool Days Top
The price: $85
The fit: Great fabric — it feels so soft and moves with your body, but I felt like the fit/cut of the top was unflattering — we could do better, ladies.
The verdict: Pass
The suit: Sunday Top
The price: $85
The fit: The fit, color, and cut of this top is fantastic! The fabric is so soft it moves with your body, feels like it will stay in place through a big wave (or running after your littles), and still feels feminine + sexy. Loved this one! It comes in a couple dozen beautiful, fun colors!
The verdict: BUY!
The suit: Hi Tide Bottom
The price: $85
The fit: Again, I think Left on Friday has created an incredible fabric that holds you in and feels great. That said, I didn’t love this bottom cut. I felt like it didn’t do me any favors around my legs/thighs/but. It was almost too much coverage?
The verdict: It wasn’t right for my body, but great if you want more coverage on the bottom!
The suit: Hi Hi Bottom
The price: $85
The fit: This was my top pick for Left on Friday’s bottoms. I loved the fabric and the fit (flattering while still being comfortable), and it comes in a TON of beautiful colors.
The verdict: BUY!
The suit: Double Scoop Suit
The price: $170
The fit: I fell for how good the model looked in this suit, but when I tried it on, it didn’t do me any favors! The hem at the waist just felt strange; the back was unflattering. I didn’t feel like the neckline looked good. Just an overall flop, unfortunately, but how beautiful is this green color of theirs (Turf?) I love it, and I don’t usually like green!
The verdict: It’s a pass for me
& Other Stories
The suit: Striped Swimsuit
The price: $69
The fit: If you’ve been around a while, you know I lived in this swimsuit last summer. I love it so much I might get another one for this summer. The square neckline is so fun, and I love the blue/white stripe with tie shoulders. It’s so comfortable, wears great, and the tie shoulders make adjusting to your torso easy! It also feels like a steal for $69
The verdict: Buy!
The suit: Cropped Textured Bikini Top
The price: $39
The fit: I liked this Bikini top and color a lot! It was comfortable, fit as I expected, and felt cute. The pink is as shown in the picture — but I think I found a better option for us — see below 😉
The verdict: Pass
The suit: Textured Tanga Bikini Bottoms
The price: $29
The fit: These didn’t work great for my body — maybe I needed to size up? But it felt like it hit right below my belly button (unflattering after 2 little ones!) and was snug on my bum (like to snug!) so it was an easy pass for me. The bottom felt really low coverage compared to the top that’s extra coverage — which felt odd to me…
The verdict: Pass
Mango
The suit: Textured Bikini
The price: Top $39.99
The fit: You guys! Mango swim is so freakin’ good! The fabric, fit and cut are FANTASTIC for the price. I was so skeptical about what a $39 top (and $29 bottom) could get you, and I was so happy when I tried this suit on! It feels like a steal!
The verdict: Coverage is a little low, but if that’s what you’re looking for, this is a BUY!
The suit: Textured Swimsuit with adjustable straps
The price: $79.99
The fit: This suit is sooo freakin’ good! The quality of the material is fantastic and makes you feel like it holds everything in. The cut and design are so flattering and truly rival the Hunza G suit (but for way, way less!)
The verdict: BUY! Comes in this pretty blue and black too. I’m sure this will sell out!
The suit: Scallop Textured Swimsuit
The price: $79.99
The fit: I’ve had a handful of Marysia bathing suits and love them — and this dupe is so good! I thought the suit fit great and love the scallop details. My only slight call out is that it did feel a little thin — like I wished it was (like the other Mango swimsuits) double-lined. That said, I still was presently surprised by this suit, but I wanted to give that warning.
The verdict: Solid A (maybe not A+)
The suit: Swimsuit Square Neckline
The price: $59.99
The fit: If you are looking for a great black bathing suit at an incredible price, THIS IS YOUR SWIMSUIT!! I was so impressed with the quality, cut, and overall feel of this swimsuit (especially for the price.) I love the square neckline detail, how low it’s cut in the back, the stapes fit snuggly, and the high-ish cut of the bottom. It feels somehow conservative and feminine with the right touch of skin to make you feel confident at the pool/beach.
The verdict: BUY!!
Solid & Striped
The suit: The Anne-Marie One Piece
The price: $218
The fit: This suit fits like a glove! If you’re looking for a scoop front and scoop back suit, this is the best one! This suit feels classic and timeless. The fabric, fit, cut, and color are fantastic. It’s definitely on the high end in terms of price, but if that’s within your budget, you’ll love how this suit looks, feels, and fits.
The verdict: BUY! It also comes in a handful of other great colors!
The suit: Beverly Bikini
The price: $118 (top) and $108 (bottom)
The fit: This suit didn’t look great on me at all, but if you are bigger-chested, I think this is such a great suit! The fit, fabric, and color are soooo good!
The verdict: Not for us small-chested girls, but great for those of you with a bigger chest!
Whew! I hope that was helpful and you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed trying on all these brands and suits to give better insight into what suits you might want to try/buy for spring and summer!
